I say this as an outsider looking in, but I think as the fleet is stabilized and PBS is fully implemented, the days off would tend to increase as productivity increases. Once the insane monthly growth ends it'd be a lot easier to tweak the pairings to do more than 4-5 hours a day and make stuff more productive.

25 a month, yeah, up to 90% of all Compass positions. So the top 36 Compass pilots will likely get to stay in the right seat for $23/hr. Yayyyyy

On a positive note, the recent LOA between NWA and their pilots seem to decrease the chances of a major furlough/flowdown soon. I'm raising my chances of lasting a year from 25% to 50%.

That is just wrong

If NWA furloughs now all of the Compass seats are gone. The 10% is only when NWA is hiring and their 30 months are up and they decline the flow. Only 10% of the pilot group could stay. Any NWA furlough would be behind them so they would remain CA. Also most of the top 100 will start to get 2nd year pay and if we do get bumped to FO pay is 35 an hour for 2nd year

Not instantly though... NW can only flowback at the rate CP can train... so if it happened today, it would be next year before we started furloughing CP pilots to make room for NW (we're still ~100 short on staffing), and another year before every CP pilot is gone. By then the merger will be long since done, and then it's a different story...

For what its worth, I got hired at compass and had orientation on June 20th, and I did not give up my Number. Also, when it came time for me to sign the training contract, I said no cause I already had the type rating and that I would be going through there new short course. So they never pushed the issue after that. There is so much stuff going on there they don't know if there comming or going. It will just slip through the cracks.

Why should you have to sign a 12k contract for a 20,000 dollar job! No thanks. BTW, the day after they offered me the job, they invited me back for another interview without realizing that they already interviewed me!!!! you could probably steal an emb right now and they wouldn't know.

Classic!! That's the Compass I know and love.

I interviewed for a Chief Pilot position a few months back with them and they didn't know who I was when I showed up for the interview. And this was the lady who sent me the letter with the interview schedule!! The great part was it was a two day process, they didn't know what to do with me, so I got an extra day off and a free trip to the Air and Space out the deal.

By the way, what are the specifics of the "short course?"

Awesome. Thats just too funny.

I didnt know they were still pushing the training contract. When i got hired earlier in the year during orientation some one in my class mentioned the training contreact, the chief pilot said "contract, what contract"

Best short-lived Chief pilot ever!

i have an interview coming up but have a few legit questions:

1. the whole flow thru /back program is for northwest pilots--- how does it work, they are now delta pilots, -- does anyone know the language in the LOA/contract? To me i think it is a no brainer--- compass cant flow up to northwest becuase it's now delta ( or will be in awhile) and the NW cant flow back becuase they are delta. Is there a specific northwest pilot list containing only the nw pilots--- technical, yes , important i think so

2. i guess you study for a month for free? do you get hotel and per diem whilst in montreal-- if so how much.

3. is there a commuter clause

4. what is the general atmosphere around there, how is scheduling, dispacth, mx basically everyone you come into contact with at compass.

5. how was the training.

thanks,
