They want to make sure you keep in shape for the astronaut training they put you through.

What is the reserve callout time for Compass? Also, I saw that they require you to resign from any other position if you are on furlough. How does that work?

It is a physical/medical examination at the airport clinic where you took the drug test (hence the exercise clothes) for "day one", then one day of orientation where you fill out paperwork and get your CBT discs at the training center.

Does anybody have any info on the training contract at Compass? Is a pilot on the hook for $12k from date of signing or after training?

Also, what about resigning seniority if on furlough?

Compass is gonna get hosed once the flowbacks start. Just watch.

Delta and NWA merging will creat the big D. The big D will have plenty of furloughs, who will be flowbacks into Compass.

Someone said the top 10% of the Compass seniority list is protected, but the other 90% are screwed. Yet another person said 100% are subject to getting hosed by flowbacks.

Good luck Compass folks. I wouldn't want to be at Compass in these tough times.

According to the recent TA between Delta and NWA, there is a three year no furlough clause.

Won't even furlough for high fuel prices as per the TA.

Promises get broken though. :-(

you mean the No furlough clause that delta is proclaiming to get the deal approved by the government? I wouldnt let that fool you into a sense of security. You cant merge two companies and not have major reductions in staffing or an overlap of managerial duties. Delta said that "there wont be any mass layoffs" but its almost impossible for there not to be a massive reduction in paid positions.

I think you are kidding yourselves if you think this will go smoothly and without pilot furloughs. It wont be the first time an airline has not upheld their bargain

Umm... there are 4000 employees leaving Delta because of the merger. They just took an early out instead of waiting for the involuntary leaves.

Default training contract

Heard the training contract is not enforceable. Turns out Companss wasn't paying for the types but it was Embraer with the sale of aircraft. A buddy of mine didn't sign it and a guy quit a week or so ago after receiving the type and they couldn't go after him. I resigned before the sim so I was never asked to sign one earlier this year.
good luck to you guys and gals over there.
