OO crew gave a huge double wave in SFO with a laugh and big thumbs up. Kudos to them!

So, what's the origin of the double wave?

No offense to the FAs out there, but for some of you this is just true lol
A girl I went to high school with just got the call to be an FA from one of the regionals. Long sappy Facebook post yesterday about how her dreams have been ruined now that training is cancelled. Again, no offense to any FAs... but in this case I really had to bite my tongue.

Legend has it that in LAX, especially with close proximity at the box, CPZ pilots would give a friendly wave to OO pilots. This would usually be met with the thousand yard stare. So we started double waving to make up for the lack of waving from OO and that is how the CPZ double wave was born.

It always brings a smile to your face to see the gesture returned. Definitely something I’ll miss.

I wish I saw one. Better start doing it to Delta pilots too

what cracked me up was all the new hire FA on IOE a few weeks back (FEB/ March) “honestly I’m so excited for United....”in training they said it’s just around the corner”.....
to the new hire FA on my last trip finishing her IOE who said we were all to cynical and negative.

we furloughed together sis 🥺
