Compass Updates III: Last Double Wave

Well said. Not sure that individual is up too. Probably actually begging for a Spirit interview because Atlas is a "dumpster fire" or whatever. A lot of us have actually been hired at NK, and are shall I say... Stuck waiting for a class date. God only knows how many months that will take.

I came with nothing and I'm leaving with 2000TPIC.. I'm happy with that. Others are leaving qualified to be a captain somewhere or at least got a free ATP and type rating. This meltdown has happened before, though lame and painful, it's a common career experience. It will pass and good times will return. For me, It definitely does hit home the sage advice - "go somewhere you don't mind getting stuck during the next downturn".... What this has taught me is that it can happen in the blink of an eye... And in this covid-19 scenario back up plans ended up being pretty worthless.
The more important thing in all this is to stay healthy and watch out for each other. My sister is a nurse working on the front lines and just got this virus, my mom recently recovered. With the stimulus help, unemployment won't be so bad in the short term. The furlough is not the thing I'm worried about at the moment.
I'm not sure if you were trolling or really cared... But I'll take a moment and say how proud I am to have been part of this pilot group- they are flying professionally to the end with a smile on their face and a good attitude -- very "compass" of them lol. I think the furloughs will spread, unfortunately, and I hope we can put this behind us next year.

Well said Bobby! I agree. I mentioned it a few weeks ago and I’ll say it again. This pilot group is 99% hard working folks applying, interviewing, and attending events to get to their dream job. A highly motivated group of individuals that just happen to be apart of a group with camaraderie that beats ANY group out there.

No - I went through 9/11and this is expected to surpass that in damage to careers. Truly, no matter what property you're on this is devastating and will be the most vivid memory of not only your career but your life. Much like the Depression generation.
Different stories of what AA will do with the planes though - any word on this?
BTW most everyone comes onboard hoping to leave asap but most become "lifers." The massive hiring by the Majors masked this, the norm is a trickle to the majors.
