United can’t own a majority of a regional. The FAs have a clause in their contract about it. I’m not sure exactly what it says. That’s the reason United came up with the Mana Air scheme to buy ExpressJet. UAL owns 49% of Mana Air and the other 51% is owned by people that UAL controls. Mana Air owns all of XJT. The specifics might not be exact but it’s something like that.

If the scope concessions happen it will be Mana Air (which is United) buying all of TSH, not UAL Holdings....

FYI, UA cannot own a majority of any airline. That would be in direct violation of the FA scope in their current CBA. Hence the reason UA only owns 49% in C5 & Xjet
