I’m all out of info. Last I heard we were about to get a bunch of UA jets, juuuust in time to prevent furlough.
Now... who knows.
I’m making plans to leave cpz this year, without accomplishing my 1000 TPIC goal here, FWIW.

700s are in the desert because airlines prefer the 170s. But if you can't get more 170s, then you pull 700s out of the desert and modify them to be scope compliant as 50 seaters. Pretty simple. The 700 situation is very much like the DC 9. You pull old planes out of the desert and rehab them with new interiors, paint, and give them an overhaul. Actually the 700 is easier because you don't have the issue of adding hushkits to make them noise compliant, TCAS, and other things to update the aircraft.

Obviously you need to read a few pages back. What I said is likely, is UAL will make a deal with its pilots to address their concerns on widebodies, give them furlough protection through a flow down, and a Billion dollars in increased pay and retirement incentives. In exchange UAL will get relaxed scope and a flow up. Most likely the flow up/down will be at Mana Air, and all the increase in large RJs will be there, and Mana Air will start aquiring other regionals besides Expressjet. You will see most of UALs regional flying move to Mana Air.
