That's probably the grand master plan. Mesa loses United, starts the 737 operation. United flying moves to Compass. Everyone keeps their jobs, and everything stays within scope clauses.

If misery loves company, we apparently have it.

I hate to see any jobs lost. I started reading these forums when I heard another regional was losing flying. I felt terrible. These people have families, lives, personal goals and agendas, I don't care what regional you are at or what your goal is I think it stinks when another fellow airline pilot Iooses an opportunity. What stinks more is that another airline pilot wishes your job would go to another airline pilot. I fly at Mesa few years now, it has not been that bad. One thing I have never heard is a Mesa pilot bashing an Envoy flight crew or any other regional flight crew. Now Envoy's ground crew in DFW that's a different story for a different day. My point is we all discuss whats going on in our industry at my company we have never wished or wanted our company to take flying from another regional carrier. Thats up to our managements to figure out and squabble about. I know our United contract extension is not signed yet and everyone is hoping for a piece of that pie. Mesa has already put into motion for some or all of the 700'same to converted to 550's. We are probably loosing A 175, meaning 1 175 to Expressjet in IAH as they continue to spool up their 175 fleet in IAH, with the promise of 175sc's about 18 or so going to us (Mesa) in IAD. We (Union vs Management) are ironing that out behind closed doors because our CEO does not want a mixed fleet in IAD pilot contract reasons to long to explain here. So our United side looks promising. Just letting you know whats going over here at Mesa. That's the hold up with United nothing else. It's our AA side that is the uncertainty that we (Union and Management) are worried about. My "personal" opinion is that American wants to bring it in house and Mesa could do everything correct they are signaling they may be pulling a Delta move. We are still under contract with AA till 2022 so no immediate threat there even though the clock is ticking. Regardless, to think that another pilot who is secure at his/her job with FLOW wishes 1300 hundred pilots loose their so they get better routes or is bitter about something management has done is just plain selfish. As a professional pilot and especially as a PIC I think about everyone involved on my aircraft on the ground, my pax ect. I do my job without being selfish and being thoughtful of the big picture. People at wholly owned's are very fortunate and blessed I always wished them the best and good for them. But I can't help but think that the hate I see from some of them on here they get a gloden ticket to fly a Boeing or Airbus almost guaranteed, those who speak will ill about others they don't deserve it, I thought the majors wanted more than a monkey that could push buttons and follows SOPs. Hell I can do that, I thought they wanted pilots with integrity and other qualities that made them stand out above the rest. I guess not if they let people like that just "flow" through. With that said I hope everything works out for my Compass brothers and sisters chin high do what you need to do to keep going or weather the storm our union is open arms and is always here to help if needed. Stay the course and good luck. Hopefully there will be flying for everyone regardless of where it comes from

I know your post wasn’t directed at us as the haters. I just want to you and anyone else to keep in mind that we are, for the most part, guessing about where flying might come from rather than wishing. As previous posters have said, if we end up taking Mesa flying, may you get something sweet to replace it. It’s all a big game of musical chairs anyway, right? If you’re caught without a chair, go grab another one.
Edited for painful grammatical errors. FYAC.

Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached.
Lose: be deprived of or cease to have or retain (something).
Neither of us are loosing any planes. However one for sure or, perhaps, both of us may be losing flying and planes.
