This has been a done deal for at least the last year. It was supposed to be part of the Republic deal and was put off when that was blown up by UAL scope. That is why Endeavor and Republic have been so overstaffed for the last year. And Bastian let the cat out of the bag last November in that video.

Will be interesting to see what comes next. Hopefully we all find out something interesting soon but there are some very interesting things going on at TSH, Expressjet, and Commutair right now.....

Whatever it is, I hope they move quick. Compass pilots are getting ready to evaporate. Damn near everyone has apps out, hedging against the possibility that there will be no replacement for the Delta flying hours. A lot of people are getting CJOs and as their class dates approach with no firm guarantee from management, people are going to start leaving in droves.

If that’s management’s plan, to avoid furloughs and overstuffing, it may prove successful beyond their wildest expectations.

U talking about a lot of people getting CJOs from mainline or just lateral? If its mainline this ‘new opportunity’ is unrelated anyway these people don't have to bother.

In the event of a furlough, then can we finally go to Frontier?

You need to study the history of regional airlines and Delta. Comair, ASA, Mesa/Freedom, ACA, GoJet, Compass. Gone. And now that Delta mainline has the A220, don’t get comfortable at any DCI carrier.

Always a possibility but Frontier has tried that before with Lynx and Republic and it didn't work. Hard to make CASMs work in the LCC model with fewer than 120 seat aircraft. l

I’m talking both. People are hedging their bets, some setting up their preferred laterals if they don’t yet have the hours for anything better, some dropping apps at LCCs or ACMIs that would not be their first choice if Compass were going to stick around. But it’s doubtful that Compass can stick around with only a 20 aircraft fleet.

And some people who were on the cusp of competitive for their lifetime job appear to be getting pulled across the line by the sympathy of our alums and ALPA brethren and some people who just hadn’t been sufficiently motivated to put out apps are getting happy surprises too.

Compass never was a place to dawdle. Even before this additional motivation we were losing 20 pilots a month from a group of 700ish as just normal attrition. Increasing that number by even 50% between now and June will start to empty the place out pretty quickly with both the most experienced (who have the best opportunities) and the least experienced (who have the least to lose) going first.

If HK has a rabbit in his hat, he should not delay pulling it out to show folks, IMHO.

New memo out. Big news!!!

Deal isn't done... taking longer than expected... please be patient...

Essentially there is no deal and they're stringing us along until we close or have furloughs.
