It’s so messed up that we can’t go to F9. With their fleet expansion, anyone who leaves now could be making $200/hr in the left seat there in 6 years time, maybe less. But our employer is blocking us from that. The more I think about it the sicker it makes me

I’ve heard of non-compete contracts in some businesses, but not pilots.
As an example, the evening news anchor of a large market TV station may have a non-compete contract that they cannot jump to another TV station evening news anchor in the same city for say, 24 months.

What I don’t understand is how can an employer prohibit you from seeking employment somewhere else? Sounds like servitude of the indentured kind.
