It’s so messed up that we can’t go to F9. With their fleet expansion, anyone who leaves now could be making $200/hr in the left seat there in 6 years time, maybe less. But our employer is blocking us from that. The more I think about it the sicker it makes me

What I don’t understand is how can an employer prohibit you from seeking employment somewhere else? Sounds like servitude of the indentured kind.

I’ve heard of non-compete contracts in some businesses, but not pilots.

As an example, the evening news anchor of a large market TV station may have a non-compete contract that they cannot jump to another TV station evening news anchor in the same city for say, 24 months.

Just like Neilman after SWA. Went to Canada worked for Westjet. Then when his “no compete” clause was up started JetBlue

But none of us, nor the union agreed to it.

I see. Been in aviation 15 years and I didn’t know Alpa allowed such a thing. Any, lots of luck to y’all.

Technically it is not TSH blocking you it is F9 refusing to interview you. F9s legal determined the flow language prevents them from hiring TSH employees outside the flow.

It was an agreement between the management at F9 and TSH. Unions had nothing to do with it and have nothing to do with managing the flow.
