They never have. But the do walk into NH ground during the vacancy bid and offer upgrade to NH’s that have the time... happened several times in 2019... and should happen in 2020. Or mor normal is you get Captain awarded during NH IOE... funny thing is most are choosing the CRJ, get experience in the aircraft with the quick upgrade.:

I went to horizon and looks like I'll get SEA base on the Q as a captain my first bid.

Not last time I checked. FO jobs up the ying-yang but no DEC opportunities. Faster upgrades in the CRJ. GoJet and TSA have DEC jobs, as did Commutair, Envoy, and Air Whiskey. The Q400 is essentially a DEC job since none of the Horizon senior FOs seem to want to upgrade to anything but the E-jet.

I have to think they actually do hope to get additional flying although whether or not they are competent enough to pull it off is anyone’s guess.
Yeah me too.. When we lost 6 planes 3 yrs go to the date practically, they immediately stopped upgrades and classes and offered easy approvals for leave of absence requests. They told us it would be 6 months or so IIRC before things would normalize..

Nothing like that this time around and the loss is exponentially worse. I am more convinced Amazon flying is the new opportunity fwiw.

Seems like a number of places are jumping on that bandwagon, but may be a deal with the Devil.

I just don’t see us not flying a 170/190 though

I hope you're right. I don't want to fly a 737 as a regional pilot if I'm still around

Amazon is all subcontract flying. Cheaper is better for Bezos, got to pay for his divorce.

Tinfoil hat time. Could Alaska actually be in play? I’ve been quick to dismiss it but a multitude of Alaska employees seem convinced we are involved somehow. No scope, Alaska loves RJ’s....
