So the gist of this is the LCA dinged a crew for his own lack of knowledge of green dot and FOM procedures?

Not something actually bad happening while flying below green dot...

That post makes more sense now, at least to me, outside looking in.

And the FAA backed up the LCA. 🙄

Must have been the same FAA that thought the MCAS wasn't a big deal.

Vref is 1.23 x Vso. Green dot is Vso x 1.3. That’s why we’re allowed to fly below green dot at compass during approach. We should know that. The FAA and LCA should DEFINITELY know that.

Wow, it’s the same thing on the airbus at DL...we actually fly FMS speeds (managed as we call it) definitely goes below 1.3 Vso...the airplane knows when it’s in a landing config and allows itself to go below green dot automatically

Huh?

Managed speed and activate approach, it will do green dot. Throw out flaps 1, it’ll do S speed. Throw out flaps 2 and 3, it’ll do F speed. Final flaps full, it’ll do Vref.

What do you mean “it goes below 1.3 VSo”?

Green dot disappears with selection of flaps 1.

Yes my point is it disregards 1.3 Vso for Groundspeed mini

Uhhhhhhh Green dot? Landing config? Hmmm. Yea I'm pretty sure there's no such thing.

lol DL airbus pilots.

I wonder if they want people to quit because there is no new flying till at least summer or later. Better to have us quit than deal with a furlough.

And what will they do when they have 80 reserve captains in LA? December they have more Seattle reserve captains than line holders.
