Losing Delta and New Opportunities

I disagree, typically when something like this happens, the majors tend to suck up these pilots. Look at Expressjet (ASA), there were a ton of guys/gals that got picked up by Delta in the 6-12 months after it was announced their DL flying was going away. Between August 2017 - and Summer 2018. I bet they had 20-30 Expressjet/ASA people in class a month at DL. I have a feeling Delta will do the same. It's the number one major airline as far as number of pilots leaving, to go to Delta. I bet you if anything DL will hire a bunch of CPZ people in the next 6-12 months...especially when hiring ramps up. I believe in the PWA at DL it says DL has to hire 30-40% of New Hires must come from ALPA carriers, and that excludes any EDV folk in an guaranteed interview process.
How do you know it excludes the EDV people?

Where’s this pretentious attitude you’re talking about? Literally nowhere to be seen on here. I get it’s popular to pick on OO but at least base it on some facts. If Compass pilots want to move to OO for the west coast bases you should be more than able to and not get flack from anyone for it. If you wanna hate on OO for being non union, you gotta realize the people that voted no on the last vote are mostly retired/ moved onto ALPA carriers ironically. The newer generation of OO pilots have nothing to do with that history and want ALPA voted in. Regardless, all of us are in this to get our time and paycheck and eventually move on. Do whatever move you think is best, but cut the BS hate on here.

Seems like exactly what you’re doing claiming that you know all 5000+ pilots at OO and that’s how they are.

I gotta say... I’m super sorry for the compass folks on here and truly hope the best for everyone.
However, I haven’t read any OO koolaid. In fact, it seems like your thread has more “pretentious” attitudes from other airlines. If you all did come to OO you would be welcomed with open arms but I sincerely hope you all get legacy/LLC/ or get additional flying for your lifers.
Your OO hate is lame and adds nothing to the thread and creates angst among the pilot groups.
Good luck everyone, seriously.

I sympathize with your post. Many of us will be happy and grateful to make the switch if it comes to that. Thanks for your willingness to be welcoming.

In the 3.5 years I spent at CZ I had probably a dozen skywester's happily proclaim they were shutting us down in Seattle and taking all the flying. There's also all the flat out lies skywest recruiters would tell prospective pilots about Compass. I get every airline has it's 5% but you guys make it too easy sometimes to poke fun at you.
With that said if you're going to make a lateral there's worse places to be and you're future career airline isn't going to care you were non-union.
Guy's I really doubt there's any new flying coming your way. That memo made it pretty clear their main concern is meeting their current obligations with Delta and American. It just seems a little coincidental that this supposed good news is coming out right as the first aircraft are being transferred. Whatever happens I wish you good luck and wherever you go are going to gain some great people.

3000 of those 5000 pilots are under 3 years with OO. It’s a lot different airline then 5 years ago..

I have a hunch CP has known about it for a couple months.

There is certainly a lot of OO “hate” to go around amongst non-OO regionals, but I think it’s largely friendly banter, honestly. Sure, there are some things us non-OO guys conceptually dislike about OO, but that’s true of any regional. It’s true of OUR regional...how about our current uncertainty.

I have many friends at Compass and besides I consider y’all and other pilots my colleagues. I always go by the number one rule I was taught when I was young, which is “treat others as you wish to be treated”.
I truly do wish y’all at Compass the best outcome(s) possible.
