Could United be planning to add some small mainline aircraft IE a220-100, or E190,195 and then add 70 69+ seat plus RJ's right. Because they seem to have a lot of small exclusive carriers, which is not an efficient way to do business, maybe thats the opportunity that management is hoping to get in on, but here is the reality. When their is only 4 airlines who hire regionals, and 50 seat casm approaching 20 cents, their is going to have to be a lot of shrinking at the regional level, especially as management right now has discovered that they can just about fill as big of a plane as they want on a lot of routes these days.

I would tend to agree, for those who are on reserve or west coast people. This could be a good indication that “if” this new opportunity does materialize...the commuting time zones to new bases could become a reality.
