Even if we end up slightly overstaffed on pilots, Mx will just get worse and worse. Most of them do not/will not commute so they will just leave. It's not like any new Mx guys want to come here anyways. Sorry for the negativity but it's getting pretty bad now.

IMO everyone should be interviewing and trying for a CJO. Even as a plan B. Just sitting and waiting is like burying your head in the sand.
It's so crazy/sad to see how things are panning out now....it's hard to believe it wasn't that long ago when AA D0 was up around 90% and we went months without a controllable cancellation

last time I made a statement like that was back in 2018 when I said we’d start losing DL 3-4 a month in mid-late 2019
I think that has to happen if United is the big player in this game. Part of the reason I'm convinced this is taking so long is because, all the nitty gritty about where the AA jets go...DL is already figured out, but finding draw down schedules for AA and moving those airplanes to not affect staffing here is the reasoning for the delay IMHO.

We had a ton of leverage with AA, remember when they came and asked for there jets back, and we basically gave them the big middle finger and said pay us for the price of the contract or we're going to keep flying them...well that leverage has done a complete 180 degree turn...balancing 2 partners leaving and adding a new one takes a lot of coordination. Again it's all heresay but i just dont think the details are all worked out, I'm confident something positive is coming from all this...

I guess the big middle finger was the start of your downfall. Mainline always wins. What happened when Comair gave Delta the big middle finger?

So you think the 36 aircraft were easy to disperse... but the 20, that’s the real quandary? If their concern was to not affect staffing they would control it with a memo release.

Personally, I think they just need to keep ahead of the attrition and they’re “good”. By not talking, they’re letting people walk on their own and keeping some level of control in some weird way by thinning the herd that’ll be around for end.

I’d love a company update on attrition and manning to know where we truly sit.

United is scoped out for 70-76 seaters, they cant even fly the ones they gave to XJT because of that. They have to transition GoJets 700s in order to get them flying. Also, read the SEC filing that says Skywest gets priority for the first 25 aircraft of any new flying. I am not saying you are wrong but who will fly the planes with the amount of people leaving in the next few months? They can't give you 175s right now because of what I mentioned above. Do you think people wil just hang out on reserve for the foreseeable future? It could take maybe six months to a couple years for the deal to complete. Let's see if they say anything on the call tomorrow or just balk.

What makes you think that Compass would have to be exclusive to United and get rid of AA flying? Mesa, Republic and Skywest all fly both and Compass has obviously flown AA and Delta at the same time.

I think there are rumors of the Aviate program tied to the flying. Which would mean we have to be United Exclusive carrier.

Hmmm. That’s logical. If it’s true, then they’ll also probably not say a damn word tomorrow.
