Default What I love about Compass

Despite losing 6 airplanes, having vacations taken away, extra flying into off days, lower pay, the threat of losing contracts etc...you guys and gals are a pretty content/happy pilot group that doesn’t really complain much. Must be those 1.5 - 2 year upgrades and 3 year regional careers.

Meanwhile other regionals who have the highest regional pay, stability, and flow to the parent airline are posting “don’t come here” threads.

For me, its the crews. I love the guys and girls that I fly with. Even on the worst day with multiple MEL's, diversions, and long duty days, I fly with some of the greatest people I know. I have made incredible friends here, and if you're with the right people then even the crappiest situations can be made tolerable.

Plus, I love the flying that we do and being on the west coast.

We haven't started a "don't come here" thread yet knock on wood! I think people at compass are very driven and oriented toward getting the time and getting out. Lots of hard workers here doing the grind and getting the time and having a blast together along the way. When I was hired and heading home from the interview I ran into a line pilot and asked him if he still likes compass. And he said "it's a good place to hang your hat." I think that's still true even after all the changes since 2014-15.

You just have to make sure that what you are looking for is a west coast base out of training with a chance to upgrade without going east. That's basically our niche. I think we'll survive this year to see even Week become a super senior captain at Compass unless hopefully his #1 calls first.

The best thing we always say about compass is the crews, so be cool if you come here.. Because we all like working together here and a lot of people become friends while they're here. Also, keep our forums chill too. It's a small thing but nice that we have a laid back atmosphere in these forums that is even more true on the line..

9E has reaped the same rewards of your snack basket negotiations. There are several FAs who are particularly enthralled about the Cheezit appropriation.

Your brothers from the East thank you for your contributions to the cause.

It amuses me to read other regional threads about how entitled there pilots are. Guys over at 9E complaining about having to pay for Uber’s to get to work...man are they in for a rude awaking if the ever get on with a major 😂
