If he’s not and is senior to me I’ll take his slot. Driving to work for $200k sounds awesome.

The Delta contract has about a year more to run and the AA contract about three years IIRC. Right now most of the other regionals have had more recent contract renewals which means their existing contracts will run longer. That is an issue but not one any regional can do a whole lot about. Most contracts have escape clauses that allow the major to pretty much drop you at their whim anyway so it is, as Stoic the Vast said, “an occupational hazard.” The major airlines have even closed down or sold off their own wholly owned regionals when it suits their purpose Compass WAS a Delta wholly owned at one time.

That would seem to be the only option - Compass or someone else. . But seriously? Yes, I would. YMMV though. Choose an airline where you can live in base. If Compass is your best option for that - do it. If one of the other would suit you better, go for it. Even PSAs crappy wages and work rules wouldn’t be a showstopper if you can live in base with them. Same, same, ANY of the others.

Where can you live in base? That’s the main issue. If you absolutely CAN’T live in base, where can you get to in a reliable one jump commute. But that’s ONLY if if you can’t live in base. The suckage goes up immeasurably if you commute. A two-jump commute is sufficiently bad that the Supreme Court wouldn’t let a judge sentence you to it, even if you were an admitted serial killer. It’s cruel and unusual punishment.

You are welcome. And welcome to the zoo.
Hahah I don’t know if I’m gonna miss the freight flying and hate the airlines or vice versa but I’ll find out. I know I’ll miss the leniency in 135 freight flying.

There’s really two cities that I could live in and wouldn’t have to commute. MSP and PHX. I really like OO just because I could get MSP pretty soon but then again I could also get PHX really soon at Compass. I’m not sure but I’m really down to either Compass or SkyWest.

You've got to be at one end of the climate scale or the other, eh? No middle ground for you?

As a MCO commuter, I couldn’t agree more.

So... didn’t listen to the employee call but did read the memo:

Beginning in June 2019, between two (2) and four (4) active and current Compass Airlines pilots will enter initial training at Frontier Airlines, in seniority order, subject to the airline’s hiring needs.
I’m assuming it’s a typo but the memo doesn’t specify 2-4 pilots A MONTH. I thought that was strange...

It's probably per class? When classes are available, we send 2-4?
