Compass Updates 2: Revenge of the Sit

Some people are procrastinators and just can't bring themselves to get out apps and update them incessantly. This'll be good for them and for everyone junior to them. In that sense it can only be viewed as a positive.

I can only laugh at the people knocking frontier.
Second year pay there is close to $10K a month even if you’re not picking anything up. Upgrade is fairly quick hen you’re making $200K a year. You could retire there as a millionaire with a huge 401K, and more importantly, far better job security than here.
Maybe if you’re at DAL this doesn’t sound too great. But, hey, reality check, we can’t knock them now considering we are some of the lowest paid airline pilots In North America. Yeah, don’t forget that. Any LCC is better than slumming it at a regional for 1 day longer than you need to. Even if you heard F9 QOL sucks, well so does ours, badly. At least they have some money to bring home After putting up with it.
As soon as I check my 1000 PIC box I’m applying to anywhere but here. Assuming the company still exists by then

Why wait? A number of FOs with NO TPIC whatsoever have been hired at both Spirit and Frontier.
Seriously, everybody ought to be sending out apps, if only to get in the habit of doing so. And waiting on interview prep until a week before the interview probably isn't a good idea. Some airlines (SWA and Alaska come to mind) seem to give you points for perseverance. You ought to be putting in apps anywhere you meet minimums, and updating them constantly.
It's a heck of a lot easier to UPDATE apps than to fill them out originally.

I think Week means applying to LCC / not too choice carriers after hitting a thousand.
It’s a good bench mark to have under your belt if you can get it. Obviously if your #1 or any of the big 3 etc call, then go.
I agree with the choice. I’ve checked that box and would go to F9 (I think I’ve surpassed APC probabtion and can use that lol). I’m happy to see personally.

The Frontier Flow is a positive thing overall. Second year pay, you’ll be making a lot more over there with a Bus type and better job security.
If you are a CA with over 1,000 tpic and can’t get a call, I think it’s a pretty good move. If you are a CA with less than 1000 tpic, I’d wait until I hit the magic number before I left. Just my thoughts. Plus this will really help some of the senior guys that just can’t get that call for one reason or another.

Not gonna lie, it's a bit of an about face from a previous COO who felt that an Allegiant flow would be "beneath us" and therefore turned it down.
While Frontier isn't my cup of tea and I'd imagine most guys flowing there could get a job there as quick if not quicker if they actually applied, it's better than no flow anywhere. So I'm not going to knock it, but I am amused by the change of tune from management...

I don’t think anyone’s dissing F9, just chuckling that you’d need a flow to get there.
