Nope. Looks like 10 or so people before it hits the 1300s.
Right now it's 2.5 year upgrade. It's slowing because FOs don't stick around. This place would have 1.5 year upgrade if people would have stuck around.
Maybe the company will do some things to help retain FOs. They obviously have but more needs to be done if they want the airplanes to fly.

As a commuter, EWR is the best base despite the groundstops and delays. You have multiple flights to commute from whereever you are going compared to IAD. And personally, i was based out of EWR and IAD and the EWR system and trips are more better compared to IAD. Rumours have been flying around lately about the future, from new equipment to some sort of incentive to attract more FOs, only time will tell what it is. But im here almost 2 yrs and this is a great company and pilot group. And we have been losing many guys to legacies and LLCs and the bulk of them going to Spirit recently. Reserve can be brutal but its not better anywhere else too so, i highly recommend anyone coming into 121 to consider Commut Air for a launchpad for their airline career.

Considering C5
Looking to change regionals this fall and wanted some reliable information from current line pilots
How long is the upgrade? Is it expected to drop?
Will I get EWR as a new hire?
I hear negotiations are resuming, what will you guys be looking for?
How long can I expect to sit reserve?
Overall, do you consider it a good place to fly and a stable regional?
Thanks guys!

How long is the upgrade?
**2.5 years and climbing
Is it expected to drop?
**only of the company gets more serious about attracting new hire pilots.
Will I get EWR as a new hire?
**yes
I hear negotiations are resuming, what will you guys be looking for?
**more money, maybe better work rules on reserve. Not sure what else. The pilot group filled out a survey but I have not seen the results. I guess they stayed with the negotiating committee.
How long can I expect to sit reserve?
**3-4 months
Overall, do you consider it a good place to fly and a stable regional?
**It's a good place to fly. But we are shrinking. There is no hiding that. My opinion is the future is more uncertain today than it's ever been in this company's history. 3 years ago there was just over 200 pilots that flew the line evey month plus about 10 management pilots. Today we have 162 line pilots and still about 10 in management. Not a good trend.
Thanks guys!

It's pretty well known turboprop aircraft are by and large on the way out. C5 flies turboprop aircraft. Fun to fly, but awful by any other measure. Buyer beware.

Management still seems to think that our turboporps offer us a niche route stucture, which in turn, should equal stability for the company. Unfortunately at this point in time, it seems like most newbs in the industry would rather fly jetz for all the Facebook and Instagram likes.

I think management better be careful...continuing to step on the pilot group's toes like they have been is going to be cause for backlash, and negotiations are going to drag out much longer than either side wants. Then we can all sit back and watch as the number of "college freshman" that are leaving doubles.
