It's possible it was a maintenance delay earlier in the day that snowballed over several flights. We're a pretty small operation and each plane usually flies 10 flights a day. If there is a problem it could cascade to each subsequent flight. The downside to a small operation is that we don't normally have any spare planes either. Then again, it is the Dash8 and they are generally maintenance heavy planes anyway. Sometimes you're just unlucky. I had a 4-day trip last week with 18 legs that went on time....with the exception of two...and that was weather related.

I found the interview to be straight forward. It was my third airline interview, with offers from the last two. The first was a learning experience. Someone once posted on this forum, after you select an airline you would like to work for, go and interview somewhere else first. This was great advice. The HR questions were normal and the tech questions were well planned. Just as with any interview, learn about the airline before you get there.

Not too much to report but here's a couple things:
6 new-hires are in the October class. We have quite a few others in the pipeline who don't meet the ATP minimum hours yet.
No upgrades in November or December because of the holidays and to allow a couple months to fill in the FO side. Upgrades expected to start in January again.
Two planes in RFD, IL for C-checks. One went out about 2.5 weeks ago and is almost finished. One just went yesterday. We are now contracting out our C-checks to get them done faster. From what I understand the company does/did Republic's Q400's and the head of the company is a former Horizon guy. I expect we'll see our maintenance delays start dropping once we get a few planes rotated out from here.
That's about all the new stuff. Otherwise, we just keep trucking along.

Duke, is 6 an average class size? I am hoping to make the December class!

When I was a new hire (back when dirt was still new, and we had to walk to class uphill both ways, sun in our eyes, through 3 feet of snow, and never complained) we had a class that was supposed to be 12. One didnt show up so it was 11. If you want in good chance you will get it. Only thing though is the desire to keep the class at even numbers, but I really dont think that is an issue.
