18-24 month upgrade is rapid compared to the last decade.
They are saying you can upgrade when you have 1000 121 SIC. That is a LIE.

The last displacement should be posted this week. It’ll be very interesting to see if they downgrade any Jet CAs.
I don’t understand how we are still getting people to show up for class honestly. Compared to Endeavor and Envoy we are offering nada. Unless these folks failed out of training and we are giving them their 2nd-4th shot at being airline pilots. Which is probally true since our failure rate is pretty high right now.

Even last year I would estimate that 25%+ of my new hire class was fail-outs from other regionals. And over 50% of my newhire class of 28 is already gone.

I’m not trying to make things better by posting on here. I’m trying to prevent other people from going there. I’m exposing the lies.

You’re welcome.

Maybe you are okay with CommutAir advertising instant upgrades while at the same time they are downgrading more pilots than any other airline in this country.

Poor assumption. Of course I care.

How do these posts help those being downgraded?

We got it, you didn't like it here.

You must lead a sad and lonely life if you're still posting on a C5 thread after leaving.

Positives- our training pipeline is pretty much cleared out. Transition classes are running through smoothly, with very little down-time. Just did a line check for a captain transition who had finished his LOFT 6 days earlier, and spent a total of 6 weeks in training.

Well on pace to finish the dash 8 draw down and transition on schedule. Guys are moving on via the CPP again now that United has started hiring again.

Yes, we have had a handful of downgrades because the combination of the accelerated draw-down of the Dash-8 fleet and the fact that the junior Dash captain was so junior (4 Dash captains hired between February and April 2016, when the junior ERJ captain was an October hire) but the company agreed to pay protect them during the transition until the upgrade again. Assuming we can hire again, that shouldn't take too long; we have the training capacity now to actually train 30 pilots/month.

Never thought I'd hear the day when people were complaining about a 12 month upgrade.

Could things be better? Sure they could. But they're trending in the right direction. Extensions are down, we've regrouped and our performance has improved markedly since last year.

Maintenance has dramatically improved, and with it reliability. Cultures take time to change, and while C5 will never be mainline, its still a growing company, and a good place for a new to 121 guy or gal to come in, advance quickly and move on from.

Did a lot of people that came here from the 10/16 - 4/17 not get what the expected? I guess, but that's how they industry works sometimes. 1 month can be the difference between upgrade and sitting FO for a while. Things are improving, and I bet in the spring we'll start to see the upgrade times drop dramatically again.
