We went from 351 pilots to 280 in the last 12 months.
Many aren't putting up with it.
Unfortunately, a lot of people remember not too long ago when this used to be a cool place. Some believe it's worth fighting for to get that back. It's a almost a no-brainer for new hires, but harder for folks with 3-5 years seniority.

If you need a refrigerator or microwave next week, you will be participating in the new C5 weight loss and exercise program by walking to the other terminal.

I am curious what the minimum aircraft/crews is to stay viable as a company. 7 pilots per plane would put us at 280 pilots with 40 jets (once the transition is over).

Anyone still here for a quick upgrade that hasn't upgraded has left. My class is under 50% and we have to repay the bonus if we leave.

As it stands right now with transitioning pilots I think we have enough to "C5 staff" the jets on property, and they don't plan to "ramp up" deliveries until after the transition. This translates into the company not giving a **** if pilots leave right now.
Why pay the employees more when they can afford to lose a few?

I'd be interested to see what happens in Jan/Feb.

I feel the company is behind the power curve. Why did we stop taking more hours? How many Dash CA downgrades are going to stay? How many people are leaving after staying one year? If the company is getting enough qualified applicants, why do they constantly try to enlist the pilots in their PR campaign? How many CAs are coming up on 1000 hrs PIC?
It's reasonable for the company to stock up on pilots for a rainy day. We will finally have those extras with the transition, but if it's spent foolishly there will be problems the first time we have an event like last winter.
