No line-holding pilots should be displaced from their domicile to sitting reserve below people they are senior to. Even for one month.
If the company chose to end all dash flying in EWR to increase Jet flying, this is the only result that could come from that. If any other airline was in that position with two bases, I expect the results to be the same. Any contract argument should be directed to the union, they didn't do much in anticipation of displacements. Now they trying to monitor and work with the company on what little agreement they have.

Sorry, I think there's some confusion on the meaning of the word displace.

Do some research.
Is anything like this happening at Piedmont? Did it happen at Air Wisconsin? Envoy is currently displacing pilots, any of them being forced to sit reserve? Did it happen at Horizon?

Go look at his post history. He agrees with the troll that started the other thread about his amazing interview experience. He hasn’t posted in 6 months and then didn’t know we were downgrading. I don’t think he works here on lives with his head in the sand. And call him Snowflake, he seemed to love to throw that word around back in April.

I suggest they live with their decision to run a full displacement.

As far as NOV goes, I have been displaced from EWR DH8 FO to EWR 145 FO. There is no more DH8 FO in EWR. They cannot give a schedule to EWR DH8 FO, it doesn't exist.

Either let me sit as jet FO until class, or assign me as IAD DH8 FO where I would hold a line over reserve, and most likely cause more grief to those in IAD. There is no in between.

Right On; that is BS. If you have been displaced out of EWR DHC-8 FO. How are they still flying you in that position?!?! Either the DHC EWR base is closed or it’s not.

Let's use logic here, why would the company displace you to a IAD dash FO when that position is going away too? The intent is to transfer pilots to the jet.
The company gave you the opportunity to bid for IAD base you chose not to. So what's your argument?

My argument is that we are being asked to bid for a schedule in a position that no longer exists. A schedule that is guaranteed to be reserve.

What are you missing here?

I should hold a line in IAD, not be forced to sit reserve in a "ghost" position, until my training class begins.

There are no lines being added to the Dash flying in IAD. Therefore you are not eligible to bid a line in Dulles since there are no vacancies there. Just because flying is going away in your base doesn't entitle you to flying in a base other than yours. That's how seniority works.

I understand no lines are being added in IAD. Do you understand EWR DH8 position does not exist?

We have ALL been displaced, we cannot be EWR DH8 CA or FO. Why should I have to bid for a EWR DH8 schedule when the position does not exist.

I'm not saying I'm entitled to anyone's IAD flying under these circumstances. I have been displaced to ERJ for Nov according to the displacement bid. I had a choice and I chose ERJ.

The company cannot eliminate a position, displace everyone from that position, and then require them to bid for a reserve schedule in that same position.
