Please read my whole post... The problems arose with the decision to accelerate the dash pull-down, especially without increasing jet deliveries (hence, shrinking fleet and pilot list). I see nothing wrong with following the contract and seniority now that it has already begun.
Is it your honest opinion that the junior people that have been grossly misled and mistreated by this company, on both the ERJ and the dash, should stay and deal with the same management, training dept, and scheduling practices for the next __ years? There is no need to suck it up here with so many better opportunities elsewhere. I don't think moving from a bottom feeder to a better company looks bad on a resume.

Again, I could care less what people do. But I will say this, in my 10 year career, which includes multiple regionals and some 135 crap, I have seen many friends and co-workers picked up by legacy carriers. Many of them have the same resume I do for the most part, except for two things I've noticed. One group has some sort of training department job listed. Check Airman, ground instructor, sim instructor, etc. The other group of folks are those who have shown upward movement when changing employers, and not lateral.

I've been employed by 3 regionals now. Misled and mistreated is just how it goes at this level. Go check out the majors section, those guys and gals think they're being mistreated and misled as well by their employers.

Getting furloughed really screws your career plans sometimes.

I get your point, but I can't quantify the value of your experience in this matter. Also, upward movement is subjective. With other companies offering more stability, competent management, better QOL, and tens of thousands more dollars for flying the same equipment, recommending that people stay and suck it up where it sucks is a hard sell. There are plenty of training department opportunities at the better airlines, which are actually hiring new hires that need the training.
But look at it from an HR perspective. What do you think the HR guy, whose not a pilot, is looking at your resume and sees 3 regional airlines in 3 years? For one thing, they wont be talking to you, they'll be reading your app on airlineapps. What are you going to put in the "reason for leaving" box? If you think "I wanted a better schedule, better pay and better QOL" is gonna fly then you're sorely mistaken.
I feel for those who got a taste of the left seat. I too upgraded for 6 months at my first regional. Then they parked all the Saabs and suddenly I was in the right seat of a CRJ looking to get that taste, and paycheck back. I ended up leaving. Those that stuck it out are now at United, Delta, and Southwest.

Others that stuck it out are still stuck at their bottom feeder regionals. You're talking about the best cases only. What is the benefit to remaining at CommutAir versus going to one of the flow airlines, for example? Waiting for a guaranteed legacy job while working at a reputable regional carrier makes more sense to me than sucking it up at the crappy carrier waiting for a chance to maybe pass the Hogan.

How long does it take to go from new hire at Envoy, to mainline?

[QUOTE=PotatoChip;2445055]I've seen the exact same thing. And am in the same boat. Stellar resume, just a lot of jobs.

Don't want to sound like I'm piling on, but after reading through your posts and your experiences, why wouldn't you just leave now and come to Piedmont (I'm assuming you're EWR based and PHL would be best) and become a captain almost immediately? I can understand not wanting another lateral move, but we have lots of previous 121 guys that all seem happy they came here. Figure you would be in the same position.

I agree with you...Piedmont was my first choice coming back to flying after several years off but I got the TBNT email even though I have tons of experience on the 145. So now I find myself captain on the dash being downgraded on the jet with a company that I thought that knew what they were doing.....
