The fleet size will decrease a bit while the dashes go away, but then it should start growing again as we induct more jets. Am I wrong to assume the junior upgrades will come back after the dash transition?

I believe around 20 have gone to UAL. Our percentage increases from 5% to 10% starting Jan 1 2018. The pass rate is a closely guarded secret between UAL and the company. 1000 PIC (or 3000 total) at CommutAir and a 4 year degree are the main requirements. This is assuming the Hogan and interview is passed.

Surprise?
Some of the most junior pilots in the company were instant dash captains. With the dashes being parked, this can't have been a surprise that the jet might be too senior for them to hold their seat. I haven't heard of any jet captains being downgraded.

Yes - this Downgrade WAS absolutely a surprise. In addition there are also several people who came for the upgrade and are still waiting over a year for a jet upgrade. With this recent displacement bid Management specifically made sure they DID NOT upgrade ANY more Jet FO’s to captain. They specifically stated they would not be wasting any of the training department slots on Jet FO upgrades. They are so short of FO’s right now they aren’t going to upgrade any Jet FO’s. But THEY will even bypass senior Jet FO’s and upgrade junior Dash FO’s to jet captain.
Will the rapid upgrades resume? There’s already a BuNCH of people waiting for upgrade with 2-3 years seniority. Rapid upgrades are the exception at CommutAir NOT the rule. A few folks got the rapid upgrade in 2016 but no one since and that was component of the mixed fleet. If someone is advertising the rapid upgrade at CommutAir then they’re blowing smoke.

Wats always said by senior guys is "these millennials think they are entitled to upgrade and wen they don't get it they start whining". That's not the case AT ALL. If you see a place advertising that they sell tire, the last thing u expect to see wen you go in is a chicken shop that dont have tires. C5 advertised quick upgrades, who do you think they will attract? Ppl that wants the quick upgrade, FOs close to 1000 hrs and cant upgrade at their current job.
So wen u talk abt ppl acting all entitled thats not it. C5 advertised it, so they come to get the goods. If the goods are not as advertised then ull get ****ed off consumers, its that simple. So dont come with this millennial CRAP when folks are whining.
If those folks are upset then they have every right to be, and let them be. They didn't get the goods as promised. They either tasted the upgrade then got downgraded or they never upgraded at all.

I had an interview and potential class date last June-July. I was specifically targeting street ca on the jet. I asked what would happen when the dash's got retired, if I would be downgraded. She had said that something like that won't happen due to the tremendous growth forecasted.
With that said, one of my friends is a super junior dash ca. I told her every step of the way that she wasn't gonna see jet ca anytime soon, and now she's being displaced and downgraded. Without a change in seniority list instruction, this was going to be an absolute certainty.
Sorry to those affected.

Trust me. I’ve tried, and failed.
That being said, these guys will go through jet class in the right seat and within months will be transitioning over to the left, especially after the email sent out by BK this morning.
