Well, it’s official! This place is the last airline anyone should be looking at right now. Fast upgrades? How about the dash captains that have been here a year being downgraded?

Can they MEL "no go" items? Still abysmal performance by commutair.

Heard a rumor two of your pilots were kicked out of the CPP program recently for unprofessional behavior in the workplace. Anyone confirm the myth?

Come on Captain, can you MEL "no go" items? We operate by the same rules and don't cut corners. We fly as though our family is on board and if there is a maintenance issue, we're not going anywhere! Most days our planes don't have any deferrals. Those that do have typically 1-2. When we had planes with more deferrals or issues, it was because United took our seasoned mechanics who knew our planes to staff the EWR base (and good for those folks to move up). So, we hire and train new mechanics who don't have the same depth of knowledge of the planes. That takes time to develop. I'm sure you've run into that, over the years. The folks we have now are great and also bust their butts. These planes are 12+ years old, having done 5-7 legs/day for those years; their age and number of cycles show. We're all doing the best we can, given the tools and resources we've been given.

Is the performance where it should be- no. It's not for lack of trying by crews busting their butts and doing other people's jobs to turn airplanes in 24 minutes (or less). Or by having lineholder schedules constantly changed and/or pilots being extended into days off frequently to keep the operation moving. Yes it is a regional, no we're not mainline and we're not treated the same as you. We know this and endure this with hopes that many of us want to be junior to you someday (or at another major). However, if you, your comments and digs at us are a reflection of the most mainline pilots, I don't want to work there. Thankfully, the many mainline folks I've met are awesome and give me hope they outweigh the trolls. Our company performance is improving, but yes, most of us are truly embarrassed by our management's ineptitude and lack of foresight. Many good people are leaving here due to losing faith in how this company is being run and many more are likely to leave and start over somewhere else soon. Either the performance will continue to improve or it won't. I pray it does...

Honestly haven't heard the CPP rumor you mentioned. If it's true, it hasn't been communicated to our group. Instead of being proud of the program, our company keeps the CPP program so secretive on our end. Some who talk in the crewroom about their friends in the CPP won't even mention their names. Many in the CPP don't even know who many of the other C5 participants are (except for those who decided to buy and wear United ties after being accepted).

Apologies for rambling, but felt like a lengthy reply was warranted.

Fraternally,

Whoop

Been working in/out of EWR the past several days. Had no idea how bad things had gotten at Commutair. From jumpseaters complaining that they were leaving to the gate agents complaining. Sounds like Mesa may be a better choice now than Commutair!

Management has failed United, the passengers and the rest of the company tremendously...here's to over a year of putting 10lbs of $hit in a 5lbs bag...(beer chugging)

Down at least to 50 pilots from our high of 356 in March. We may be below 300 now, a lot of folks quit in the last 2 weeks.
Zero pilot referrals sent to HR over the last couple of months.

And they send us a survey to see what they should update their keywords for google ads. YGTBFKM

Today we should see how poorly they handle the D8 displacement. A lot of people are ready to walk if they take a pounding.

False. No one has been "kicked out" once in the CPP. The final approval for a CJO from UAL is the same pilot review board as "off the street hires"

Well it's official. Lots of Captain downgrades. 10 people that I know. I'm guessing that's just a start. Would love to know the total numbers. If they ever get to publish it....

I’ve said it before, I believe it is managements goal to run this place into the ground. It’s the only thing that makes sense!
