Dash is still instant upgrade for new hires. Talked to someone in the latest new hire class, no one had the time, that's why there weren't any. Still time to get the Dash and get your 1000 before they park at the end of '18.

What an amazing time it is to be a pilot - When a 1 year upgrade is considered an eternity.
I remember being hired by my former carrier in '11, and was going to be extremely grateful if upgrade happened in less than 5-6 years. It never happened, and finally 6 years after I started in 121, I got the call at C5. I still am grateful!
My $.02 is to not make any drastic decisions. We are turning the corner here, and attrition is going to be steady with the CPP in place.
Regardless of whether or not the instant upgrade is in available, let me tell you, just because you have the time per the FAR's, that absolutely DOES NOT mean you are Ready (capital R) for upgrade.

They are still making DHC-8 people fly as CQFO. So half your flights could be from the right seat. The pay is still better though.
