A net loss of pilots every month in the foreseeable future means we don't even make it to 40 jets and the company starts entering a graveyard spiral. I think no one here wants to see that happen.
Some of it's possible without a LOA simply with company good faith efforts (trading/sharing/donating hotel rooms, sparing the use of extensions, awarding upgrades despite disruptions in pilot reserves, etc). I would love to see this in the contract, but there are operational needs to consider from the company perspective so it's unlikely to get these in the contract, but it's possible for the company to make some good faith efforts with these.
The union should be looking to negotiate for some LOAs and see what we can get. Some of it's going to take a LOA (pay raises and retention bonuses).

The CBA is pretty crappy and honestly needs a complete re write. We are better off copy pasta someone else's and adding a couple % for good measure. The D8 quick upgrade is about to go away. As soon as we park 1 or 2 them the displacements will cover attrition. When that time comes in the next couple of months ,there iwill be no reason to come here for PIC candidates. For FOs there is no reason to come, there are far better options.

ALPA is working to get the cards in order. Pressure is coming from every direction. Improvements are in the works. We'll just have to see if things are shaping up too late to matter.
HercDriver, perhaps I spoke a little out of line on the CPP. I try to keep my BS down to a minimum but I probably stepped in some of it regarding that post. However, the idea that pilots need "privacy" in relation to the CPP is a little crazy don't ya think?
Wasn't my trip I was referring to... I'd rather be here as a lineholder than on reserve backfilling a troll like yourself. Best of luck to you!

It's all good. Any lack of transparency is driven and controlled strictly by UAL. The ALPA CPP rep for us is working to provide as much transparency as possible.

You all happy with the training received for the ERJ? I wonder how it's going given the company is new to jets.
They don't expect you to build the airplane, do they? Doesn't seem like companies are doing that these days anymore
