What is going on with recruiting? I assumed the CPP carrot would do wonders. What happened after the - initial - rush of folks joining? Is recruiting slowed to work through training backlog or can they not find enough folks?

The math doesn't add up anymore. We are at 350 pilots. They still haven't inked the deal for the replacement jets and the dashes are starting to get parked.

With CommutAir, TSA and Air Wisconsin all planning on flying through IAD, I don't know where else you could put 20 more 145s in the north east. Unless there is really that much flying in EWR. With AW going to ORD I think that narrows down which base might be announced this year, and it doesn't hurt to wait to announce it for right now. Why hire 200 pilots in Jersey to work in TX or IL?

I'm probably sticking my neck out too far, but I think the 20 options and or the new base will be the next big carrot. Maybe after that they will start using $$$ to attract people like the other carriers.

It seems like the new hire classes are only guys with the 121 time to upgrade, no FO's looking to build time. Why, because other programs offer bigger bonuses, rentention bonuses, and who wouldn't want that while they're building their time to upgrade. Many of those other regionals have East Coast bases, so that doesn't help us attract either.
