True, but I think that was a temporary effect of the base opening. There are only a handful remaining dash captains bidding over right now. Once they go through, jet upgrades should go to FOs again.

So if you're getting 2 planes per month, it should be 16 CA upgrades and 16 FO spots that are offered, or are they not doing 2 planes a month every month?

Industry standard is ~9 pilots per plane. Not 9 captains per plane.

Which means these classes for 2 or 7 aren't even half way to covering growth let alone attrition.

Over the next 3-4 months. 20% of the company will come up on their year requirement. I expect a large uptick in attrition since the bonus won't have to be repaid.

Very good point. I know many that are waiting for the one year so they can keep their bonus and leave. I don't see how the company is going to keep a lot of people from bailing unless they offer a retention.

Where are they off to? Surely not a lateral move. Why come somewhere a year, gain seniority fast and then bail to go start over somewhere else unless you have your career airline calling

Those that failed the hogan for a 2nd time have no reason to stay. Off to a LCC would surely be a step up.

Moral is really poor right now. The scheduling department had 1 person during he afternoon shift the other day.

The guys I know don't care. Remember that a good amount of people hired in the last year were "second career" guys....they don't necessarily care about moving on to a major, or even a LCC. The may, June jet class guys have been used and abused, and a lot of them are getting burned out fast.....especially the FO's who can't upgrade.
