Yes, I don't remember the number though. (10% I think)
I know that getting hired off the street will be more difficult now that they are growing the CPP program. XJT gets 25% of each UA new hire class, but most of the jr guys there will never get the chance before they close the doors in a couple of years. There is some Lufthansa Flight Training school that is also in the program. I'm sure you will see Air Wisconsin with the same program soon.

Recruiter says you are taking delivery of 2 jets a month, wonder how they come up with only 8 CA slots.
At my last airline, if a CA on one plane moves over to the other plane, this creates a secondary vacancy. Does CA have the same? So if those 8 jet slots went to current Dash CA's, you now have 18 Dash CA slots to fill, rather than 10. So when the bid award comes out, you will see 18 FO's awarded Dash CA. Or do they just award the 10 and the next time a vacancy bid comes out they will handle those 8 vacancies that were created on the Dash?

A guy in the July class isn't getting the upgrade call either.
Once ewr opened the dash guys started to come over.
Right now erj upgrades are over a year. Yes people in October did upgrade in class. No one with less than a year has gotten erj upgrade this year, it looks like.

Hey guys,
A couple quick questions for a potential new hire: I have 4000+ total 2000+ 121 time. How long would it be to upgrade, what is the reserve time in EWR? Is the 145 training program still backed up? For the CPP, what is the current acceptance rate? Thank you!

This is true. Before novemberish the jet upgrade was super junior, hence the handful of guys that got the upgrade in indoc. Since then, a lot of dash guys have been moving over to the jet, and with the Ewr base opening it's going to be even more. I know guys from April and May of last year that have not been able to get a jet captain class. I still think it's fast considering, but it's not been the "finish FO training and then to upgrade training" it was a year ago.
I don't think most of the dash guys care to get the extra type rating. They'll get their 1000 PIC for the CPP faster in the dash if they just keep flying.

Seniority number tells me how long someone has been with the company. If a dash captain was hired within the last year or two, they are most likely still seat locked. However, I don't know when each of the captains that were hired more than 2 years ago actually took the upgrade, so I can't calculate exactly how many dash captains are still seat locked.
The 9 that I mentioned were hired more than 2 years ago, but may or may not still be seat locked because I don't know when they upgraded.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. There are jet captains hired 5 or 6 months ago, but upgrade time is over a year?
If he decided to bid for the upgrade just recently, there hasn't been a new vacancy announced for several weeks. As more planes and people come in, more vacancies will be announced and the quick upgrades will continue.

Once ewr opened, the erj went more senior then it had been.
