I'm not quite sure what you've read that has got you worried. Everyone I've had the opportunity to work with here has been very professional. With any growth these types of snag should be expected, especially at the rate of growth anticipated. The training is far from perfect, but covers ALL required subjects.

So I gather things are a little disorganized, not too surprising. But how is the actual training? Specifically standardization? Does left seat guy know what right seat guy is supposed to do and vice versa? It's always a bad sign when you see hands bump into each other in the cockpit.

They have been revising the manuals to clean up some confusion but it is very standardized. Generally captains and first officers are paired and everyone knows or is taught their duties in their respective seats. They train all materials and instructors are very knowledgeable in 145 procedures and real life scenarios. The administration might be messy but you are definitely qualified if you pass a checkride here.

Default SIM slots

Guys, how bad is the sim slot bottleneck? I'm hearing that some of the September class isn't scheduled until mid march. Is the ERJ training only conducted in STL? Any info is appreciated.

Umm the bottleneck is happening to Oct 31 class and on. Im in Oct 3 class and i was the last session. Just finished up sims today. Still not great. Sim in STL is booked by another airline later so they are using CVG sims in a little bit here. There is a delay especially since now that initial jet guys are coming back for recurrent within 6 months they also need sim time. It is being worked on and should improve, hoping someone will post update in near future.

Sounds like we have people being a wee bit dramatic on here...

Eugene is correct regarding the sim bottleneck. It is in the process of being fixed with adding more LCAs to relieve sim instructor workload, and adding more sim slots to break up the jam.

To those who are commenting on the training:

Organizational change is hard to accomplish...Anywhere.

The manuals are being revised every class as they find things to fix.

Our procedures are being revised as they find more efficient ways to do things.

Changes don't happen overnight.

Study your memory items, limitations and flow patterns, and be able to interject applicable systems knowledge into your every day job and you will be FINE.

The program is far from perfect, but you will certainly get everything you need to be safe and competent in whatever seat you train in.
