That sucks man. Still, I'll be happy just to take the stupid thing. A lot of people don't even get that far. I figure if I bust it the first time I wouldn't have the hours to actually get hired until after the time comes for the second attempt a year later anyway. Now that CPP selection is by order of seniority, there isn't so much of a "rush". That's a whole year to gain experience, interview prep, and maybe by then someone will have figured out a sure way to pass this thing... There's always a positive side.

I have been waiting for years to get the invite for the Hogan test. When I took the test before Indoc, it felt great just to have the opportunity to take it. Even if you don't get the invite for the next step (the interview), you still have an opportunity to take the Hogan one year later. The Hogan is something that a lot of pilots will never get the opportunity to take the first time.

Experience in a particular airframe means nothing at an airline as a new hire. You could have 10,000 hours in the plane and know it as good as the mechanics, but that means nothing when seniority kicks into play. They waste a lot of money by typing guys who can bid back to their old equipment relatively quick...ie 145 pilots getting stuck on the Dash and bid right back to the 145.
