It really depends on if we get the extra 20 ERJ's, if we dont you'll be on reserve for the next 2 years probably.

I know guys here thinking about bailing to AAs WO. They don't have 1000 sic so the asap upgrade isn't a factor.
We are due for an economic slowdown. The airlines' CASM is increasing and profit margins are decreasing. Lower fuel cost has been the primary driver for the profit and the reported incomes are pre-tax earnings. Additionally, age 67 is a real possibility since the policy window has opened. When majors stop hiring again, where do you want to be? I think that is the question they should ask themselves. There is a reason these are bonuses that can disappear overnight.

If you can get into a class in the next few months, expect to be on reserve for two months or less. Right now everyone on reserve is flying, captains are getting extra flying every day, FOs fly too much.

This is very true. Economic forecasts are going to begin trending downwards from 2017 on. However, the number of retirements will preclude any industry stagnation like was experienced in the 2000s. And age 67 wouldn't have as big an impact as many think.

Lots of speculation and misinformation these last few pages.

FWIW: I'm a Jan 2016 hire, and currently hold ERJ CA about 30-40 percent up the ERJ CA list. I can hold a line, and am nowhere near reserve.

The guys giving the misinformation are not from C5.

My understanding is even the Reserve guys are getting trips before they even start the day. We are short handed and a little understaffed so everyone is flying.
