Class sizes have been around 10-15 a month, which I have been told is perfect for our training dept capacity. The May class was the first ERJ and Dash class for newhires. There are 5 erj slots for newhires classes. You bid your aircraft based on seniority in your newhires class (date of birth). I believe the company is transitioning 2 FO's a month from the dash and 7 Capt from the dash. That makes a erj class 14 with 7 Capt and 7 fo. So if a newhires wants IAD, best thing to do is bid for the erj since it is currently only IAD based.

one of my fellow pilots from C5 just got done through the initial e145 ground school last week. He was an internal pilot already on the dash for few years. He told me he had a class of 14, 9 internal(7 Capt,2 FOs) and 5 from outside, perhaps the 5 were from the new hire class that finished Indoc in the first week of May. And the chief pilot was in the initial class the whole 2 weeks and yes ERJ for now will be IAD based until 3rd base opens up in the near future(possible ORD). And apparently what im hearing is there running out of captains on the ERJ as some of the older guys want to remain on the Dash 8, so ERJ captain can be very quick for some of the new hires as long as you meet the captain requirements.

For United or CommutAir? If it was United in the interview process, I believe it is a year.

I look forward to it. I've been offered a class date.

Another question, are the 145's being 'refurbed' (new interiors/wifi, seat power) or just dusted off?
