Either you email your monthly preferences in before hand, in order to assure room availability (the D.C. hotels sell out once and a while) Or you call scheduling if it's a last min request.

The airport reserve shifts are 8 hours, except for the last shift in IAD which is 8pm-12am (I think the first shift starts at 5am, but I'm not entirely sure). Be prepared to get put on a lot of stand-ups if you get the late shift though.
We also a short call reserve (2 hour call out), which is a 12 hour shift.
There is an online scheduling portal where you can submit your reserve requests, supposedly this is based on seniority.

Um, I want to just caution you guys and gals of a recent new hire with the initials JA. All I will say is be very "aware" flying with this person. I have been told by someone that previously worked with this person that the person has a few skeletons, is unstable and is running from something. If you knew you'd be questioning how (and why) this person was hired. This is not to slog anyone because it is a real situation.

If you feel this person could endanger the lives of others why not report it through the proper channel? Or maybe you just have a personal grudge against JA.

Any backlog between ground and sim for the lastest folks going through? Also between training and IOE? Just wondering how the process is going as they start ramping up the 145's.

Or you can just be an adult and let other adults make up their own minds. Don't doubt your claim has merit but your post falls under the "not what you say, but how you say it category. Not cool.

Our class, had up to 3 weeks between ground and sims. IOE is quite backed up right now, upgrades are taking priority over new hires. This is on the Dash.

Thanks for the update, I'd be interested to see how the 145 guys and gals are doing timeline wise and if it's along the same time frame as the dash program.

I've heard a lot of things about a lot of people, and while many of those things may be true, it is immature and unprofessional to say things about people you don't even know on an anonymous forum.

Do you have hotels for unscheduled overnights in base?
