I was in the January class and I am one of the few who have previous 121....very curious to see I or any of my classmates of get the call for the ERJ. It seems like the general feeling on the line is that a lot of guys don't want to swap AC for QOL.

Thanks! But how would that have been any different if you chose flying the Q?

I guess the question I am really interested in is: As a potential new hire, how would I be affected by going to the E145 instead of the Q?

Thanks again!

Just base selection.
ERJ- IAD
DHC8 - EWR, IAD

You can upgrade into either, but you are seat locked as an FO if you want to switch types. I MO, not worth deferring a class.

for someone who has the captain mins, would commutair, or DEC at Gojets be a better option considering a ORD base would be the easiest commute, but IAD is doable? Also, which one would provide less reserve time as a captain.

Both are equally bad choices.

I won't comment on Gojet but I can tell you if you get hired now you will have a good QoL. You should be able to upgrade out of ground school and be in the top 1/2 of the total seniority list in two years. ORD is not guaranteed, so make your choice off IAD. You will spend some time on reserve as a captain, but I would guess less than 1 year. We run pretty low reserve coverage, as of now. It depends on if ORD opens and what base will go junior.

If you get accepted for the CPP, it is a backup plan in case you don't get hired elsewhere.

With the hiring right now you would be foolish not to take a really strong look here at C5. My instructor has been fantastic. There's an XJT lady here who was in the January class who is a captain right now and there's another one in captain training this month who also was in the January class.
