It's the same as if you got rejected outside of the CPP. You wait 365 days from the date of the rejection letter to reapply.

2016 is the tip of the iceberg. Look at the retirement numbers in the next 5 years alone. If your a current regional CA (or senior FO), you likely won't be waiting too long to get a call. Not trying to discredit what C5 is offering, because I think it is awesome for a new person coming into the industry. But I'm not so sure it is a great deal for those already trucking along at their current regional (some scenarios not withstanding of course).

I do have to wonder though, how will C5 staff the full amount of flying it is supposed to have when the jets are midway through their deliveries? I think a lot of places will have the same problem as PSA is starting to experience. PSA has a ton of growth left in it on paper. Through 2017 to be exact. And now there have been credible rumors of AAG exercising the remaining options for 900s for PSA. And I still ask, who will fly them? When the prospect of a quick upgrade ends, and pay is equal or better at other regionals, how do you attract and staff? I ask the same to ANY regional experiencing growth. How do you complete your growth and see it to fruition? You don't. Moral of the story, get in on the FRONT of a hiring wave. Because just a couple of months can make a huge difference to a career.

Anyway... We all want out of the rat race.

Don't believe this is accurate. Despite what I have read on their website, when I spoke to their recruiter, I was told that they are focused on getting all current pilots through the interview. She said new hires get to take Hogan within a week of starting training with the interview "sometime after that". There was no option offered to do the United interview prior to starting training.

That's going to be a deal breaker for a bunch of people.

False.

I specifically asked to interview with United prior to my class date and was accommodated. It was not a problem whatsoever.
United interview/Hogan is two weeks prior to class date.

The key is to get in now because the deliveries are just starting. Take your CPP as soon as possible, though.

While I'm definitely not about to make a career decision based on the opinions of those on an Internet forum, I'm looking for a sort of "what would you do scenario."

Background-
4000hrs, turboprop and RJ driver for 3.5 years. Currently flying heavy intl cargo. The end goal is United. 7 internals including check airmen and chief pilots. 0 TPIC. 27yo. Live just over an hour drive from EWR. 1 career fair with more planned this year. 4 year degree.

Options-
1)stay put: -won't be getting PIC. Although I may be looking at an upgrade in 2-3 years. I also don't want to be doing this long-haul crap working 18 days straight any longer than I have to. Currently at Southern/soon-to-be Atlas.
2)go to C5 with the CPP: -could maybe get on with United before my flow date, but would they want to take someone in 1-2 years who has a guaranteed job in 3-4?
3)go to C5 without CPP: -if I can't get on early, I'm stuck at C5 without a flow
(Both 2 and 3 also pose the risk that the quick upgrade many are experiencing could no longer be happening in a few months once the senior FOs get their SIC time)
4)marry someone rich

I know it hasn't happened, but does anyone happen to know the protocol for being in the CPP and getting picked up early. Do you have to re-hogan and re-interview since you're now off-the-street?

For what it's worth, while there are guys getting hired with less-than-stellar resumes like mine, I fully realize there's plenty of guys with perfect ones that aren't. Yet, a United CP at a meet-and-greet and their head recruiter at a career fair both told me that chasing PIC time is a bad move and that I should "stay put" and just wait it out... I feel like this answers all my questions, but what do you guys think?
