As soon as you get 1000 121 time for someone with zero prior. Hard to tell for the guys/gals coming in now with 121 experience.

Does this mean someone with 1k 121 could upgrade immediately following initial training like at Piedmont? Are there no FOs at Commutair with the required times to upgrade?

We will see... There are only a few FOs like 3 or 4 that have the time and are bypassing.

Default 1 week in feeling good

I am in January class at Commutair. Just wanted to give update to anyone thinking of coming here. So far, everyone is really cool. No crusty or cranky people running around bitter and hating life. I am sure they are out there, I just haven't talked to any yet but for most part seems very upbeat and there is a good vibe to the place. With our class of 24 we are already one tenth of the enitire pilot group. With seniority being a huge factor in the airlines and quality of life, this is a big deal. We have a good mix of regional pilots and cfis in the group. So some lucky CFIs happened into the right airline at the right time. I feel like with attrition and adding new planes upgrade will be fast. The new contract is decent. The pay is great for first year. We will see if I am still so happy after the first big test! haha! Now, back to studying!
P.S. If you come, show up knowing everthing in the pre-study guide. Save yourself the hell I am in trying to catch up.

So how are schedules built? Straight lines? PBS? Possibility of blocks of 14 days off (across two months)?

What's this on the profile stating "no overtime pay"?

Still double occupancy training hotels?

I'm assuming 24, because he says "our class of 24."

24 is the number in the Jan class, no more, no less.

The number is 24, not 23, unless then proceeding to 24, 25 is right out.

Can someone help a newbie understand what Commutair means when they state "Industry leading commuter policy"? How is it different/better than other regionals?

And would commuting from California to KIAD be nightmare???

Thanks

I don't work there, but they were the first FFD airline to get commuter hotels before or after trips. Since then, some others have followed suite
