In a recent conference call management has said that they want to avoid hiring street captains and CQFOs. With the new first year pay rates (36/hour), quick upgrade and bonus that rewards prior 121 time they hope to get enough new hires to staff the growth

The guys that are there are gonna fly the 145's their hiring you to fly the turbo props! I guarantee you'll never see 60 a year if they take ten I would be surprised. This flow isn't a flow! It's a management tool to ensure seats are filled at CA. They can't fill seats now how are they gonna grow and fill seats when not only UAL is taking guys there's guys leaving on their own. It's another rabit hole APLA is sending you guys down to fund and feed the legacy's and without you dreamers it will never work!
If its your intention to go to UAL, you'll never get hired there till you wait your turn! For most of you, that will be way after the hiring has slowed. Unless you receive a seniority # you being sold a bill of goods!
Good luck your gonna need it if your just applying!

They currently have about 26 aircraft and are gettting 40 145's. Anyone coming in now will have an opportunity to fly the 145 if they choose to switch over. Also, I'm sure some of the Dash guys will stay on the Dash and not go to the 145.

I agree. I have talked to a lot of guys who are not going to the jet. If you apply now you will get the Dash just because the jets arent online yet. But honestly It doesn't matter. Fly the dash for a year then upgrade into the jet. It's a AWESOME airplane to fly and you can say you flew a turboprop! I really don't think it's worth sacrificing seniority numbers to wait for the jets to arrive. Right now we have 170 pilots. If you apply now you could be number 180-190. If you wait till the jets arrive you'll probably be closer to 250-275. If we flow 40ish pilots a year to United that will cost you another 2 years.

I know this is a rookie statement, but I'm just glad to be here. Can't wait to start ground and get in the air. I'll fly the Dash 8 as long as I can. If something better happens someday, that's fine, but I'm good with what I have coming. Wish I had more info up front on things - seems at least an HR book would be good. I know Ground followed by Sim followed by IOE - but timing is a guess. Buddy of mine waited a lot - months between phases. No worries - it's all new to me, but I'd love to know more and as of yet I'm still unplugged.

That was my understanding as well. As long as United is hiring, when you meet the 1000 PIC or 3000 TT with Commutair you automatically go. I'm not sure where all this flow talk is coming from?
