It looks like the TSA cheerleading squad made it over to this thread. I just have to laugh. They are on all different threads bashing XJT,G7,RAH and now they are trolling on this one. What a group of tool bags. They are trying to offset the fact that they work for a black eye of a place like TSA. Next thing you know they will be calling themselves industry leading again. The sad thing is I think they have lied so much that they actually believe it.

Anybody know the delivery schedule of the 40 ERJS?
Also - What's the attrition rate of CA's over there? Are there many "lifers"? Attrition is great but if it's at the bottom of the list then that means no upgrades.
And how about the average trip mix? Commutable or not?
Been offered a class and want to make the best decision I can. Any and all info is appreciated. All the stuff I'm asking about was touched upon during the interview but we obviously weren't able to get into specifics.

Heard all 40 aircraft are ex Expressjet LRs coming from the desert and the second batch of 36 XRs are still in play for TSA if we can staff them.

Captain attrition has been about 2-3/month, which doesn't seem like that much, but when you consider we have about 170 total pilots on property right now it's decent attrition. Once the CPP starts attrition will really pick up. We don't really lose too many FOs, mostly captains. I can count the number of lifers on one hand.
Trips are mostly 3 or 4 days, but there are day trips as well. Most trips are commutable on one end, sometimes both but that's not as common. When I was an FO I was able to go most months with only using 2 commuter rooms a month with a 1000 mile commute.

Cool, thanks for the info. Any rumor of Captain Qualified First Officers in the future? Recruiter was telling me not many FOs are upgrade eligible, don't know how true that is. I imagine the recruitment drive will be incredibly strong to get the ERJ operation up to speed.
Also, what's the pulse on the TA- You guys think it will pass? Seems like some good improvements.

Less money? First year pay is about to be $36/hr + if you have prior 135/121 time you'll get up to a $15,000 sign on bonus. And with all the additional planes coming, the dude will be upgrading in no time. I'm sure he'll be making more $$ at C5. And from what I've seen, our Captain jet rates are either the same or about $1 less per hr than xtj for some years on the pay scale. Considering we get four commuter hotels a month paid for as well, I'm not too worried about that $1.

Why waste more time at a questionable company. They can't get anything accomplished between the pilot group and management and meanwhile Skywest is slowly killing them off. At Commutair he'll be making more per hour in the captains seat than he would rotting indefinitely in the right seat at XJT. I don't see why EVERY FO at XJT isnt signing off and heading to greener pastures.
