Default Commuting

Good day. Just joined and a new hire at CommutAir - Jan 4 class date. I'm sure it is here somewhere, but trying to get a feel for what a newbie work week would look like - hoping to commute from Rochester to wherever.

Welcome. We have quite a few guys who commute from Rochester. The good news is, it is often on us and you get highest Jumpseat priority. The bad news, it's on us and in the winter we are often weight restricted on the q200, making it tough to take a jumpseater. Once the 145s come online I'm sure you will see us pick up ROC to IAD in it and the weight restriction problem should go away.

We typically do 3-4 legs a day. 4 would be more the norm. 5 is a long day for us and is very rare, a 6 leg day is like a Sasquatch sighting.

Lol! You have a lot to learn. Your weight restriction problems have just begun.

Get used to taking 45-46 on an oversold flight because you have an alternate.

Or you can apply to tsa and fly tsa from roc to iad.

If I'm not mistaken I think CommutAir is picking up a lot of TSA routes out of Dulles as we take on the 145. Probably by middle of next year we will be doing that route on the 145
