CommutAir Rumors and Info

Point is if you are going to swing your UAL-tatooed dong around you must realize you are talking to folks who do more complicated things every day than you do...Was that you in the 737 or the Dreamliner circling in night IMC at mins in a snowstorm up in lake snow country or coming over the mountains getting your teeth knocked out in a place like ROA? How are those mainline EAS routes going? No comparison...but you can bet your 6 figure salary I'm doing it and your friends at Commutair do too. Make room...

Don't forget United hired hundreds if not thousands of "special box checker pilots" over the past two decades. These people were of a lower experience and skill level than the top tier applicants but they chose not to hire the best pilots for the job and now some of these guys are complaining about "lower tier RJ and Turboprop pilots" infiltrating their ranks. Its hilarious, United would be lucky to get some of these Commutair guys and less "special box checkers."

United Continental Holdings, like every airline holding company, wants the best balance of cheap and quality labor they can manage. Does flow give up quality? Not necessarily, but it does give up control so I can see why you would be concerned about that - totally fair. However, your insinuation that there are more ***holes at regionals than at majors will be rightfully taken as an insult. It is unfounded and disrespectful to the many people on this side of the fence more than "deserving" of mainline jobs.
Fact is, flow will the be final bargaining chip played to keep regional feed cheap. Mainline will be baited into taking it in order to keep their paychecks fat, just they have through decades of giving up scope. Flow isn't good for regional pilots, the death of the regional airline industry is good for regional pilots. Nonetheless, we're counting on guys like you to not let that happen.
Sorry to the CommutAir guys for contributing to this thread hijack, just hard to only lurk when I see this kind of blatant arrogance.

Yes, enjoy the new planes and the opportunities! But don't put your eggs in the United basket. Get your PIC time and move on if it's United or someone else.

Great group of pilots. The majority of them are still paying back tuition and flight fees..been through the trenches over the years. Easily could drink mainline dudes under the table...no entitled people at C5

Agreed. I lasted six months in the 1900 before I ran to the comfort of the jet. Whoever said props are for boats never flew one into Rutland or Saranack Lake.

The problem is that this opportunity, jets, is off the backs of fellow ALPA regional pilots. This type of 'opportunity' creates a regional ALPA pilot shuffle.
