Use the hotel time to study as a class with your instructor. Indoc here is not like anything I had experienced before. Pay attention and ask questions if you dont understand something. Know the packet they gave you but be prepared for some changes when you get in. We are working on changes to many things overall do your best to just roll with it. You are in a good spot even if it comes with some challenges.

Is C5 still only considering people with an ATP in hand and/or previous 121 experience/145 typed?

We never "only" considered, but the majority of those that we are hiring are previous 145 or 121 pilots.

Are pilots upgrading during training? If so, when does Capt. pay begin? Completion of Capt. IOE or once awarded the Captain bid. Any idea how long RSV will be in IAH? I know some may be difficult to answer since hiring has just started and will continue for the foreseeable future. Thank you for the information already provided. Been a while since I was at a 121 carrier and I am excited to be back in the 121 world. Fly safe.

CA pay begins after Checkride.

RSV is forever as a Captain. You have no seniority and walked into the job as a captain. Literally everyone hired before you will be senior to you as soon as they get their 1000 hrs.

They’re already senior to you to begin with. But if the company expands as much as has been advertised reserve shouldn’t be too long as more junior captains are brought on behind you.

would this scenario cause the street captain to downgrade?

No. FO only upgrades when the company is SHORT of Captains.

Probably not. There is always a possibility of a displacement bid that could force some to downgrade as we move bases around. More than likely, the junior CA's would bid to just move to the junior base instead of being downgraded.

I'm almost surprised they're not doing CQF training to increase flexibility.
