Each company does their cass stuff at a different time. I'm not sure the reasoning is keeping people from going home on weekends. Could just be a cowinkeedink.

well thanks for the advice, but I would suggest being careful with assumptions. I’m actually flying for an ACMI carrier at the moment, but I absolutely hate the job, and have thought about applying to CommutAir since I live near one of the hubs. I do have a family that is important to me, hence the question, and much of my dislike of my current job. I am typed on the 145 from a previous carrier, so I’m not particularly worried about training.
So as someone said let’s move on.

I wouldn’t count those growth chickens before they hatch. You guys are tied to United, which means that you could grow, stay the same, shrink, or go away with very little warning. Just ask the XJT guys how the projected growth that they were expecting with the 175’s worked out.

A few years ago sitting in class they told us that we were getting 75 new 737-700’s and growing to 16,000 pilots. Then there was the A350 order, then they upgraded to the 1000, then back to the 900, then delayed, then an increased order but further delayed..... I hope you don’t end up going through another shutdown, but considering what Kirby has said, and Delta retiring all of their 50 seat jets over the next few years, flying for a 50 seat only airline is going to be a scary place to be going forward.

I am not sure why all you guys have your panties in a wad.
There are no weekends for anyone going through training. There are only a few sporadic days off and they are single days at a time. We are ramping up our pilot numbers and if someone needs time away from the schoolhouse, then they should look elsewhere for now. C5 is currently behind on our pilot hiring numbers. We are opening a new base in a couple of months and it is currently all hands on deck.
If someone needs a company that will let the new hires off for the weekends and a way to get home, then they should not be applying at C5 right now. If you can not devote one month away from home for ground school and another month for sims, then this is not the place for you.
It does not matter if we give CASS or KCM to our new hires in training. No one is going home right now.
