Yes, I realize that, but why? Many carriers put new hire pilots into CASS/KCM right away, or at least by the sims, when any TSA background checks are complete. Are they worried about new hires running off to Miami for the weekend?

I am surprised they don’t use js as a form of training. Throw you on your own metal and see what flying the actual plane looks like

They do. After sim and before your first IOE trip they have you ride the jumpseat for a couple legs to observe.
