C5 expanding?

There are two possible outcomes to what's happening with C5.
1) We grow MASSIVELY. XJT was flying 30,000 hrs pre-covid (supposedly) and we're taking it all. Even post covid, if we fly 50% of that plus 50% of our normal flying that means the company is nearly double the hours we were flying last year. It's going to be all hands on deck and the greenest new hire today is going to be a solid line holder when it all shakes out. In this case we need the CAs.
2) Stagnation/shrinkage. We're doing ~5000 hrs in October. It's less efficient trips right now so we're overstaffed, but not grossly so. In that case we don't need CAs but added flexibility at the cost of a sim lesson is cheap flexibility.

The numbers are all over the place, but I think that is because we are all looking at different things. I believe I heard we are looking at hiring 40 off the street by the end of the year.
Due to Covid, we are running classes early day and night in the same rooms.

Not at c5 but i know we parked the majority of XRs for long term storage in kingman so any new airframes will probably get slowly ramped up. Those old TSA birds are trashed so who knows how much UAL will spend to get those up and running.

You have a class starting soon. I know people in it. None former Xjetters.

Thanks. Is IAH still going to be a base for C5?

Yes. We started operations in IAH this month. Skywest did take some routes XJET was flying as we build up critical mass. We picked up 1000 more hours in IAH next month so the growth is still happening.
