Thank you! Any idea how these 11 days off tend to be spread? Is it more like 4 on, 3 off? Or 6 on, 4 off? Or there is no standard and just different in every case?

Anyone currently at C5 with insight on schedule flexibility? I’ve heard you have some guys who commute from Australia (??) and they’re able to move trips around for max time off in between. What about trip-trading/open time? Is lineholders 14 off/reserve 11 off still accurate?
I’m about a 3 hour drive from a C5 hub (no direct airline service) and would be looking to minimize the amount of times I have to make the drive as well as maximize time at home between trips, even if it means longer trip duration. Thanks!

I got Denver out of training back in May21. Hit the line after the ridiculously long training and 3 months off waiting for IOE. They kept pulling hour month after month in Denver. All that to say… I got stuck sitting reserve for 6 months. My compatriots that went to Houston got a line right away and are double the time I currently have. Yes I maybe got to be home more. Maybe. But i also got stuck sitting at the airport 19 days a month with almost zero flying. Don’t let them fool with with short call/long call. It always get converted to airport. I’d be the number 1 or 2 most senior reservist… and they’d still convert me to airport reserve. So yes… you can probably get Denver… but you’ll probably be on reserve. Hours go up in winter… but get removed to bare bones in the spring summer. Only 1600-2000 flight hours with approx 49 FO’s. That ain’t many.

Forgive the 101-nature of the question, please.
Also looking to understand how long it would take to hold IAD.
Thanks in advance.

What does "converted to airport" mean? They just wave a wand and say, "no, you're on airport reserve and not long call/short call that you bid?"

Yeah that’s exactly it. They make you sit airport reserve. I think you could get IAD pretty easily. But again, they are low hours like Denver. If you wanna build time… IAH is the ticket.
