In the run-down posts that I update I'm only giving information that the company provides officially.

We have not been given any official CPP numbers for March. United hasn't run a class since March though, so no one in April or May. But they have suddenly found the need for a class in June. So Im hearing 3 or 4 guys will be leaving in June for the CPP. This is unofficial, of course.

Unofficially Ive also heard of guys bailing for Blue, Delta and Southwest. So one way or another we're losing captains every month, and with a pilot group of only 300, when we lose 4 or 5 guys its a big deal.

👍
Makes sense.

Random question,

How many paper charts are you guys carrying usually and the approximate weight of them?
Do I need a special bag just for that or can I put it with my lunch bag/iPad/other related items.

I use an old school luggage works ballistic nylon flight case. Its full. 2 Jepp binders, 1 trip binder (really just places we fly to at commutair aside from STL, JAX, GRR, and MKE (as those trips get stolen by check airman for IOE)), 1 GOM, 1 AOM, 1 Headset. Its full.

I see some guys using non-traditional flight cases. But we are very much an old school regional in terms of paper carried, unfortunately.

And STL has some sort of Napoleon complex with that many charts, fills up the trip book by itself.

They haven't gotten over the fact that they're no longer a TWA hub.

Default Headset

I’m in the market for a new headset and leaning towards the A20.

With the flights being less than 2 hours, do pilots really get time listening to music during those times?

Cause listening to music is a smart thing to do while you're responsible for 50 lives. If an emergency situation occurs you have to take an extra step to turn off your music so you can hear what the other pilot is telling you. You can do what you want but I think that's highly irresponsible.
