Omni Air Pilot Negotiations update

So I'm out to dinner last night with three captains and two rumors were circulating.
First there is going to be another mass exodus ( not unlike what we saw when so many went to Kallita a few months ago) but this time it is a combination of UPS and Spirit with their newly announced TA.
Second, that the stalemate between the union and the company has ended and that they have agreed to meet.
About an hour later, the union put out a letter stating exactly that. There is to be a mediated negotiation in the third week in February.
My thought (and hope) is that this change was precipitated by two events;
1. the union putting their demands in written form with contractual language has given an absolute fixed list of demands (no more management concerns about a moving goalpost)
2.Management's new concerns about attrition and potential Spirit contractual gains tempting the Union to ask for more.
Now is the time. There are growth opportunities abound and that will only elevate all of our careers.
OAI management and 1224...
LET'S GET THIS DONE!

Obviously the meeting is coming and wasn't a rumor. I had not heard about this next mass exodus. It doesn't surprise me though and I'm sure it will hurt.
Here's about another rumor, if you haven't heard it. I saw on another board that there's talk of Atlas buying Omni. Supposedly a newhire was in training at Atlas and a couple of management types came to talk to them and said that they expected to buy us this year and that they had been in talks for the past eight months.
There's so many directions this one can take. Let the conspiracy theorists go wild...
Whatever, I am truly hopeful of the meeting next week (right or wrong). Can't be a negative nancy all the time.

It is hard to imagine anyone who would be part of such planning showing up in a new-hire ground school. Even harder to imagine them opening themselves up to legal liability by talking about it.

Expect Omni to GET a good amount of flying FROM Atlas
We are already outsourcing to Kalitta and Western Global. Omni should be next line.

Omni as a company is worthless to another airline. Program flying would be acquired in pieces not as a whole entity. It doesn't own anything except credit. Now, to a hedge fund. That's another story. Hence the 3rd party minority owner that arrived a few years back. Click clock, click clock, click clock, don't be the one who turns off the lights.

That is why Atlas bought Southern. They are trying to amalgamate between the 2 contracts, and bring Atlas compensation/work rules down.

For all those tin foil hat wearing anti 1224, anti Atlas Pilots, anti DW
conspiracy theorists........
K4 pilots have demonstrated exactly how to join ALPA with a minimum of fuss and a good amount professionalism.
If you truly believe 1224 is preventing you from getting your new contract then the ALPA door is wide open.
As you can see, nobody at 1224 even tried to keep the unhappy K4 pilots from having the representation they want!

And don’t worry we will be right behind K4 and then the 1224 can figure out how much money they lost loosing both carriers.

The only airlines that should be in 1224 should be those that understand the concept of pattern bargaining and have the balls to do it!
Please go join ALPA if that is what you want and enjoy the ATI style contract they will get you!
