The above is my answer to any pilot/mgmt negotiating situation, with the present Pilot Shortage accelerating...

What money? The money that is currently being offered for those longer days of travel? Then I take the business seat every time! If the cash offered is something more enticing? Then I'd think about the money. But, I'd want that every time I had to sit in an airplane for say.. 5 hrs. I'm all about the business class. It makes a huge difference in the way you feel on the other end when getting off the plane. Business class for anything over 5 and I'll vote yes.
It would benefit the company to have a well rested, clear headed pilot after a long day and night of travel. A more valuable asset if you will. I know they don't think like that but they should.
They are really going to have to make this airline one that pilots want to fly for. One that pilots and employees are proud of. One that guys on the street talk about as a "great place to work". I know that's some optimistic rhetoric but it's the direction I'd be looking if I were management. Pilots are going to have their pick of companies to work for in the coming years and it would behoove Omni to go on the offensive and make this place one that stays in the conversation.

Rezrunner,
I agree. In a perfect world, labor and management would work cooperatively to the mutual benefit of all.
But to put things in perspective, JC touted in one of his sermons that KCM was something the company was proud to offer as part of their package. They even were willing to pay for it.
Mesa flight attendants have KCM; have had, company paid, for years. Omni pilots offered to pay their own way; the company refused. Now it's "Hey, whoa! You are turning this down?" JC has less regard for his pilots than Mesa has for its FA's.

Hetman,
I hear you man! Yeah I know. I'm just hoping that they know attitudes like that need to change. I mean today/everyday is vastly different than yesterday in this business.

Touché Stick, but don't be touched, I don't like you. Reading your previous posts it's abundantly clear what your all about. I have no use for people like you in life, you are greedy and egotistical. It's unfortunate that Omni had to lower its hiring standards and we are now forced to work with people like you. I am done with this now, Heavy out.

Let's see, exactly who's house in Tulsa had a new $40,000+ front door installed back in 2010?

I swear... it's getting a little too ANTIFA in here. Are we going to start dictating what fair compensation is for airline presidents and CEOs now? It's their business. Our goal is to get fair compensation for the job we do. Want to make CEO money? Go be a CEO. In the meantime I'll be happy being and Airline Pilot making Airline Pilot money at a competitive rate considering the size, scope, and workload of the company I am at.
